Most animals are able to care for themselves quite nicely in the wild. There are instincts built into them that have been there since the dawn of time, allowing them to care for their young, find food and make sure that they survive, even during difficult times. From time to time, however, an animal finds themselves in trouble and human intervention may even be necessary. That was the case with this little male panther kitten.
This kitten was only about seven days old when they found him in a den. It appeared as if he was abandoned and he was suffering from hypothermia and hypoglycemia. The kitten was listless and without any intervention from the people who found him, it was unlikely that he would survive. Fortunately, biologists were able to take this young kitten to an animal specialties hospital in Florida and veterinarians took some life-saving measures.
After a day, the kitten began to respond to the treatments that he was getting. He continued to get better and to improve under their 24 hour care. After two weeks, they were very pleased with the progress that the kitten had made and optimistic about the possibility that this cat would survive.
