There is an old saying that “An elephant never forgets,” and you may have used that saying for some reason or another in the past. Certainly, many of us are amazed at these large animals, not only when we see them at the zoo but anytime we see documentaries that show them in the wild. They tend to be gentle giants, who take care of the other elephants in the herd, regardless of their size or status.
Sometimes, these elephants find themselves in captivity and they may spend time with each other regularly in places such as a zoo or perhaps at a circus. Admittedly, not every elephant is going to be treated properly in such an environment, but in some cases, they are cared for quite nicely. Depending upon the circumstances, these elephants may be moved to other locations and they could even be separated. That was the case with these two elephants.
These elephants used to be together but they were separated 20 years ago. It was now possible for them to be reunited and people wondered if they would be able to recognize each other from so long ago. As it turns out, the expression of an elephant never forgets is quite accurate.
